Gram Staining was probably the most simple, yet most fun lab conducted in biotechnology 1. After staining and rinsing, staining and rinsing, and staining and rinsing, being able to see the cell under the microscope was great. My group and I were able to see first-hand gram- (E.coli) and gram+ (yogurt) bacteria. The staining process also made it easier to see the bacteria and bacteria shapes under the microscope. Gram staining was probably my favorite lab because it was simple yet educating and extremely fun/engaging. Another thing I have to note is that even if I wasn't interested in science at all, even though I am, I would have fun looking at the samples under the microscope because they look so artistic!
